North Live Oak Elementary, Live Oak, Louisiana

Labarre Architects provided design and construction administration for North Live Oak Elementary School, a 73,000 square-foot facility. Labarre made regular site visits throughout the construction process to ensure quality control and to represent the client. Labarre worked closely with EMC, the project's builder. The elementary school is constructed of concrete masonry units (CMUs), a very durable and cost-effective option for this environment.

The Cafetorium is a unique and versatile building. This space functions as both a cafeteria and an auditorium. Cafetorium tables are portable and fold for easy space change and versatility.

Other features include covered student drop-off areas, with a covered area for school buses. North Live Oak Elementary is divided into wings for each grade level and classrooms include multimedia stations. The school includes a library and computer lab, as well as administrative offices.

Other Livingston Parish school projects include Albany Elementary, Springfield Elementary, and East Side Elementary.
