Labarre Architects provided the complete design of the temporary clubhouse for Greystone Country Club. This 9,600 square-foot project features painted brick and stucco exterior, huge columns, and a circular driveway. The clubhouse includes a pro shop, banquet room, and restaurant with a bar. Outside, the restaurant extends beneath a large balcony. Located upstairs is a multi-purpose recreation room and arcade, weight room, women's locker rooms, conference room, and open offices. A custom, ironwork-trimmed balcony with an impressive wood ceiling provides cover for the restaurant area below. The ironwork and wood millwork are important architectural elements which Labarre designed. Labarre Architects worked closely with Greystone's interior designer to assist with the furnishings and interior.
This facility was designed as a residence to enable Greystone to sell this temporary clubhouse upon completion of the permanent clubhouse. For example, the pro shop doors were sized for garage doors as this area will become the garage when it is converted to a residence. With minor remodeling and an easy transition, the restaurant becomes a spacious living area and master suite. All design decisions were made with the initial intention of this building being transforming into a luxury residence.
