Lamy J. Chopin, Jr., PE
Mr. Chopin, now retired, spent 10 years as an engineer and vice president at Pyburn & Odom, Inc. before starting his own firm as principal engineer/CFO at C-K Associates. After retiring from C-K, he consulted for Hydro Consultants as a principal engineer. Experienced in all phases of civil engineering, Mr. Chopin has worked on numerous pipeline construction projects, including crossings of the Mississippi River. His experience includes permit application, agency liaison, design, plans and specifications, construction management for docks and waterfront structures, dredging, and revetments. He has served in many court cases as an expert witness involving boundraries, flooding, and damaged pipeline matters. Mr. Chopin holds B.S. degrees in civil engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla and mathematics from Northwestern State College of Louisiana.
Rod Stevens, AIA, CFM, IFMA Fellow, LEED AP
Mr. Stevens is currently an architect and facility information manager for Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., an international agricultural genetics company headquartered in Des Moines, IA, a subsidiary of DuPont. He has worked for Pioneer Hi-Bred International since 1974 in a variety of assignments, including computer-aided scheduling, cost estimating, and cost accounting for major construction projects throughout the Midwest; design and project management for a planned community; responsibility for several million dollars of construction each year both domestically and internationally; tactical and strategic planning; selection, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Pioneer's computer-aided facility management (CAFM) system; architectural design services for Pioneer projects, domestically and internationally; and safety, building code, and accessibility consulting for domestic and international projects for Pioneer. A graduate of Iowa State University, Mr. Stevens was a member of the initial class of Certified Facility Managers (CFM) designated by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), named an IFMA Fellow in 2002, and a LEED AP in 2006.
George P. Thompson, III
Mr. Thompson is a Certified Financial PlannerTM practitioner with Waddell & Reed, Inc., a financial services firm headquartered in Shawnee Mission, KS, and has been a financial advisor to individuals and business owners since 1992. In addition to his work as a financial advisor, George has worked as a trainer and consultant for the Winner Institute in Baton Rouge for almost 20 years, and is certified to teach four major training programs, including the Dale Carnegie Course, Leadership Training for Managers, High Impact Presentations, and the People Side of Process Improvement. Prior to his association with Waddell & Reed, George was a branch manager for Johnson Controls, Inc. for nearly 13 years, where as a licensed mechanical and electrical contractor, he was responsible for the installation and service of mechanical, electrical, and control systems in commercial and industrial facilities throughout Louisiana. Mr. Thompson is a proud graduate of Tulane University, where he earned a B.S. degree in electrical engineering, and a Masters in business administration. He is a co-author of the book, Split Second Choice, the Power of Attitude, and also an avid martial arts student, studying both Taekwondo and Jujitsu.
